Dr. Brett Marmo, BSc PhD
(Melb)
Brett is currently an ARC Post-doctoral
Research Fellow at the University of Sydney, examining the geological
processes involved with the burial and exhumation of blue-schist
to eclogite facies rocks from northern New Caledonia. X-ray element
maps are used to look at complex composition distributions in
the metamorphic rocks. Complicated textural relationships within
the rock are interpreted by intergrating data from the element
maps with petrogenetics grids based on the internally-consistent
thermodynamic data set of Holland and Powell (1998).
